by Nina Kumar

Posted on January 28, 2026

We regularly update our offerings based on feedback from our partner schools, current scientific research, and findings from our work to ensure that they are as helpful as possible. Our most recent round of updates focused on improving the survey-taking experience, streamlining access to important findings, and refining our surveys based on current needs.

Read on to learn more about the high-level changes and improvements we made in our latest release.

What's New?

Operations Updates

Enhanced Survey Platform
  • We successfully migrated our survey administration to Qualtrics, the industry-leading platform for data collection and research. This strategic shift allows us to leverage innovative technology to ensure a more stable, secure, and accessible experience for survey takers. The transition to Qualtrics also provides a more robust infrastructure for our analyses. Over time, Qualtrics’ advanced features will allow us to further simplify how we collaborate and share findings with partner schools and will provide opportunities to offer new insights to school leaders.

Dashboard Updates

Expanded Capabilities: Downloading Aggregate Data
  • Users can now download the free response data for all surveys from their results dashboards. This will equip schools to sort, filter, and search the free response verbatim comments after downloading to Excel or CSV. To preserve anonymity, users will not be able to view any line level data from an individual respondent.
    • Users of the High Achieving Schools Survey (HASS) and Student Resilience Survey (SRS) have been able to download the free response and quantitative aggregate data since the 2024-2025 academic year to more easily build custom-formatted reports for distribution.

New Feature: Free Response Search
  • Users can now search the verbatim comments in the Free Response Dashboard. This new feature allows users to quickly find the information that they need without having to manually read all comments or download them to search with external tools.

Updated View: Executive Summary - Overall View
  • Our Executive Summary: Overall View Dashboard has been redesigned to help users quickly make sense of their findings. This dashboard allows users to view their high-level, multi-year findings at a glance to quickly identify trends across demographic groups and over time.
    • Streamlined focus: Survey topics, or constructs, are separated by domain to create a digestible view
    • Pinpoint important findings: Visual flags highlight the aspects of school life most linked with well-being
    • Contextualize findings: An updated color scheme simplifies interpretation relative to peer schools
Executtve ummary - Overall view

Updated View: Executive Summary
  • The Executive Summary Dashboard has been refreshed to include a school’s results on The Well-Being Index (WBI) over time. The WBI is a single measure of school well-being. The updated view will make it easier to track this important indicator over time.

Survey Updates

New Item: AI and Cheating
  • We have added a new item on the High Achieving Schools Survey to track student cheating with AI tools. Understanding this data will be important for schools as they continue to clarify their AI policies.

Research-Based Refinements: Demographic Questions on the Children’s Resilience Survey
  • We have refined the demographic identity questions on the Children’s Resilience Survey based on a thorough literature review and client feedback. These changes reflect emerging best practices for surveying elementary-aged students and ensure that our survey remains scientifically robust, developmentally appropriate, and inclusive.

Addressing Survey Fatigue
  • We have made strategic decisions to shorten the High Achieving Schools Survey (HASS), Faculty Resilience Survey (FRS), and Parent Resilience Survey (PRS) this year to help address survey fatigue.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to our partner schools who have helped us identify survey and dashboard enhancements. We are excited that these updates will help us to strengthen our work together to improve mental health and well-being in schools.
