Dr. Stephanie Ramsey

We are excited to announce that Dr. Stephanie Ramsey has joined our team as a Researcher based in New York, NY! Stephanie will work with the AC team to develop scientifically validated instruments, analyze survey results for our partner schools, and derive recommendations for schools to improve student and educator well-being. Stephanie’s expertise will further enhance our ability to provide schools with actionable information to support community well-being.

Stephanie brings a rich background to AC. She completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at the University of New Mexico and earned a PhD in cognitive and educational psychology from Columbia University. After completing her undergraduate degree, Stephanie gained first-hand classroom experience as a Peace Corps volunteer teacher at a secondary school in Malawi. Stephanie researched scientific reasoning in middle school students for her PhD studies, and has served as a Faculty Fellow in the Core Curriculum at Columbia. Stephanie has worked as an educational consultant for several years, supporting teachers, students and parents.

When asked about her new role, Stephanie said, “I am excited to join Authentic Connections because they make psychological research actionable. AC empowers schools to not just survive, but thrive. By joining AC, I have returned to my first love within science: psychological well-being. As a teacher of students of all ages, I have great respect for the role teachers play in human growth. Schools are uniquely situated to help their students develop into the most flourishing, thriving forms of themselves. I am delighted to be able to be part of AC’s team in supporting schools in this paramount task.”

“I’m very excited to have Stephanie join our team! Her rich background in research, psychology, and teaching will help us continue to support schools. Stephanie’s passion for promoting well-being will further our mission to maximize resilience in schools. We are very lucky to have her,” said Nina Kumar, CEO.
